I knew Rajiv -the Shaw's group called him Raj-when I worked as an evening cashier at Shaws Supermarket in Clinton,Ct. Raj was quiet but friendly and liked his snacks! I believe he lived next store in the condos that many of the Vista group lived in. He used to walk over to Shaws. All the Vista people were polite, friendly and a joy to wait on at the store. I am so glad Rajiv worked at the Coast Guard Academy for 5 years! Wow! He must have gotten the job after Shaws closed and became Shoprite, so I no longer saw him.
May you find peace in the knowledge that you will see see him again in heaven where all of us will be free of illness and full of joy.
That is a great picture of Raj- he looked just like that although when I saw him he was wearing sweat pants or jeans!
Sincerely,
Valerie McLauchlan, Madison,Ct

Rajiv was a fellow regular at the Old Saybrook Starubucks. We never officially met but I enjoyed seeing his smile and his kind soul at the barista bar perusing the news on his computers as I worked. So sorry to hear of his passing. His presence here will be missed.

We never lose the people that we love. They continue to participate in our actions, thoughts and the decisions that we make. Their love leaves an lasting imprint in our memories. Rajiv enriched our lives by sharing his love for life and the outdoors. I will always remember fondly playing in his backyard in Great Neck, hanging by the pool and all the fun Thanksgiving dinners we shared. I will never forget his smile and still hear his voice. Although soft spoken, he radiated others with joy and with his gracious manners. He was taken too soon and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

I remember Rajiv's passion and zest for life especially when it came to his hobbies. When we were younger, Rajiv had a sizable model airplane collection. I can still clearly remember the way he meticulously cared for them and excitedly showed them to us when we would come over. He will be missed dearly. May he rest in peace.

The thing I remember most about Rajiv was his warm, sweet contagious smile. I vividly remember summer days in the pool in Great Neck and how he loved swimming so very much. It seemed as though there were days where he spent the majority of his waking hours in the water! I remember how happy (and sometimes shy) he was when the family would sing and cut a cake for his birthday at Thanksgiving gatherings. He was taken much too early and I pray that his loving soul will rest in peace.

Rajiv was an awesome VISTA peer and was a great friend. His sense-of-humor was amazing and his smile was very contagious!! I know how he loved the Yankees-he always enjoyed his baseball caps and his Yankees jacket. Rajiv knew how to make his peers at VISTA laugh and smile whenever they had a bad day! I worked at Wal-Mart, in Old Saybrook with him-he worked so hard and was a great co-worker. Rajiv was always excited to see one of his favorite VISTA staff-Jeff Bosch. The two of them laughed together and had good conversations. Rajiv was always there for his buddies and peers at VISTA, no matter what. He had a heart-of-gold!!! I will miss my friend, Rajiv--and will have many great memories of him. My sincere condolences and deepest sympathy go to his entire family, at this very sad and difficult time! My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Malhotra family. I am so very sorry for the loss of Rajiv! He will be remembered by me.
