Dear Shirley, Mary, Robby, Gilly, Nicky, and wizzie, et al,
Tish and I are writing on this site because we would like to communicate with all the members of the Deans family.
We are so sorry about Bobby and will miss him enormously. He was such a warm, generous, and special friend.
Our memories of him and your family are full of joy and go back at least half a century - to annual 4th of July parties in the fields with dogs, ponies and Sicilian cart rides - to cabana evenings at which we drank much too much delicious wine - to fabulous dinner parties in your charming, historic house, humorously accompanied by Sinbad talking non stop and by one of the Zulus begging for attention! - to our anticipation monthly of Mary's Wasatch Letter - to our joy of having known Elise whom we loved so much for her warmth and grace, for her originality, and for her sunny, unflappable temperament - and so much more.
We recall, as well, the support, both literal (crutches) and figurative that Robby gave to young Paula when she severed her achilles tendon on the squash court...leading us to express our hope that the Deans-Rand friendship will continue on and on through present and future generations.
And we have loved getting to know Shirley who has kept Bobby active and happy and whom we hope will continue to come back East to see all of her friends who care about her here.
We send you all our love and sympathy.
