Hello, I would like to add something, a glimpse of how we inspire and effect each other. I was Driving through Sea Cliff one afternoon, when I came upon a squirrel flopping around the curb so I picked him up and put him in a carrier cage that I keep in my trunk for emergencies on the road for small animals.
After a few calls I was directed to bring Theodore, (who I named after one of the Chipmunks on TV), to the North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary in Mill Neck. It was so beautiful to me that it brought tears to my eyes. When I came upon this I thought wow I'd love to meet the person or people who started this Sanctuary, the fact that they would go out of their way to help the Wildlife is so awesome, and even more so because, it is a sensitive topic and can get sticky legally, so I knew it had to be a very special person or people. Well I was so happy and proud to find out that Bob was on the list of founders. I wish I could personally thank them all including Mr. Marshal, and Mr. Dunn. I do what I can on a small scale to help the Wildlife, and I am inspired to do more by this. What a beautiful example to us all, and the roll off is that the animals will be treated better and cared for and the suffering reduced in the future. Now when I checked on Theodore he was getting ready to be re-released to his home habitat. I later on that year brought them a baby orphan deer with so many ticks in her eyes that she couldn't see me so I just scooped her right up! Happiness and Joy is what your going to find if we spend time with your family, I love you all so much, and praying fervently for you all, and hope to see you soon.

Dear Family of Robert, Dear Shirley, Mary, Rob, Gill, Nick, and Wizzie, I want to offer my condolences to you all and your families, I am deeply saddened of the news and agree with your friend who posted that he will be missed enormously. I had the honor and privilege to have worked for and lived with your family in my early days and the experience molded me into the person I am today. I have yet to meet a more loving family and as an RN I work and meet with many many families. I am an "animal lover" too and was so happy to see how a whole family could treat their pets as family and bring each other so much joy. Being a humble man we never spoke of all his accomplishments and Im not surprised by it, He took charge with grace, beauty and confidence. I was attending college while staying with your family and was able to obtain my nursing degree and I am eternally grateful for the kindness and generosity your family showed me, which I developed and passed on to my Daughter Miriahann, who is in her 4th year of college at age 21. I miss taking care of the horses and the chickens and playing with the dogs, and seeing Caroline chasing the chickens around when she was a baby. We never really lose people because they live in our hearts and stay with us forever, I feel Bob is at peace and I feel his Joy and Happiness, and see his beautiful smile on us. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families now and always. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you all and know that you are not alone. I pray that you feel deeply the Love and condolences being sent and offered in this time. Love Geri and Miriah Abbondandolo

Dear Shirley, Mary, Robby, Gilly, Nicky, and wizzie, et al,
Tish and I are writing on this site because we would like to communicate with all the members of the Deans family.
We are so sorry about Bobby and will miss him enormously. He was such a warm, generous, and special friend.
Our memories of him and your family are full of joy and go back at least half a century - to annual 4th of July parties in the fields with dogs, ponies and Sicilian cart rides - to cabana evenings at which we drank much too much delicious wine - to fabulous dinner parties in your charming, historic house, humorously accompanied by Sinbad talking non stop and by one of the Zulus begging for attention! - to our anticipation monthly of Mary's Wasatch Letter - to our joy of having known Elise whom we loved so much for her warmth and grace, for her originality, and for her sunny, unflappable temperament - and so much more.
We recall, as well, the support, both literal (crutches) and figurative that Robby gave to young Paula when she severed her achilles tendon on the squash court...leading us to express our hope that the Deans-Rand friendship will continue on and on through present and future generations.
And we have loved getting to know Shirley who has kept Bobby active and happy and whom we hope will continue to come back East to see all of her friends who care about her here.
We send you all our love and sympathy.

sorry for your loss. These photos, some of many taken over the years when visiting, remind me of your animal loving family. Fondly, Katrina
