Dear Hammond Family,

I am gutted that I will not be attending Roye's memorial service, due to family commitments. Although I have not seen him in latter years, I have kept up to date about his life through Lynne (my "bestie" for 60 years! Wow!)
Brett and I will never forget catching up with him on the Milford Track back in 1998. He made us a cuppa in his little work hut.
He has certainly had a great life and you will all miss him.

Love from Kathy and Brett

We will Remember "Roye" our Smiler, it has been a privilege
To have known you, & travel back to Crete in 2006 & 2016, with you.
You opened our eyes to the sacrifices our men endured
In the Defence of Crete.
May you R.I.P. Your work is done.
The Cousins Family, Pukekohe.
