Hello Jacqui and family
We have been overseas on an extended holiday and recently heard about Mike. Judy and I are so very sorry and wish to send condolences from all our family. Judy and I enjoyed many social ocassions with you both and I had lots of good times with Mike both at work and socially. I will miss his happy presence and his great sense of humour and ability to tell a good story. You are in our thoughts.

Hi Jaqui and family,
I have just heard of Mike's passing. I really enjoyed his association and wicked wit. Began with the flowers at Howick to the Grob 109 at Drury.
Still not sure if the story of his car left outside the terminal was correct but a believable story.

Jacqui,
Really very sorry to hear of Mike's death. When I think of Mike I remember the times on your yacht in the Bay of Islands, the times on posting in LA and the many memorable flights with Mike. Really precious memories. Always remembered.
Kindest thoughts,
Arthur Dovey

Dear Jacqui and family

We are very sorry to hear of your loss.

Although several years have passed since Michael retired from Air New Zealand he will always be fondly remembered by those of us who had the privilege of flying with him.

I first met Mike at the Wellington White Heron Hotel in 1970, some 47 years ago.

Back in the day, this was the layover hotel for the Auckland based L188C Lockheed Electra aircrew operating WLG-SYD-WLG, WLG-BNE-WLG and WLG-MEL-WLG sectors. Unfortunately, much too often these were all nighters'. The Crew Room at the White Heron did however provide an ideal venue for creating great camaraderie and lots of lasting memories!

Over the years, most Flight Engineers got to enjoy many Tours of Duty with Mike on Lockheed L188C Electras, Douglas DC-8's, McDonnell Douglas DC10-30's, and Boeing B747-219's.

Mike was in regular attendance at many of our FEAR (Flight Engineer's Aircrew Reunion) 180 Day functions and will be sadly missed. http://flight-engineers-air-nz.blogspot.co.nz/p/fear.html

Our heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family.

At times like this words seem inadequate to express sadness, but be assured that those who care do share your loss and are wishing you comfort and peace of mind.

With deepest sympathy
