While as a child, I appreciated my mother audrey's stories of growing up with her brothers derek and desmond it was't until I reached adulthood that I kept in touch with uncle des with letters and phone calls to him. He would come to visit mum in scarborough a small seaside town in north yorkshire england. My sisters and I would all gather at mums house to meet and greet him with hugs and smiles. He would tell us about his life back home in new zealand with his family he was a lovely man.
Uncle desmond will forever hold a very special place in my heart. He will be missed, but never, ever forgotten.
I wish to extend to each and every family member my most heartfelt condolences on their loss.
From his niece lorraine smith /nee fenwick and children emma and richard in scarborough england.
