To Gwenda's loving family. From myersonal experience working for 16 yersith Gwenda, I know that the parents of the children requiring her and Jack's generosity and thoughtfulness in setting up Auckland Central Riding for the Disabled will be forever in her debt. So many children have been the recipients of their legacy and as a former volunteer am quite sure that the groupwill be carrying out Gwenda's legacy for many years to come. Rest well Gwenda, you deserve it. I have enjoyed and appreciated working with you both on the committee and in the Clubroom, when we both became past the time of being in the arena and after all someone had to make sure the helmets were on straight. I personally miss her, her enthusiasm and generosity to the children of the ACRDA group. Sincerely Ruth Meltzer

HERON, Gwenda Joan (nee Garrett). Treasured Mother to Maria and Mother-in law to John. Nanny to Rebecca and Helen, and Great-Nanny to their children Jack, Olive, Ava and Louie. Thank you for all your love, your cuddles, and your lessons. We carry your memory with us every day.

HERON, Gwenda. Patron, past President, Treasurer, and Secretary of Auckland Central Riding for the Disabled. Our group has helped thousands of people, young and old get therapy through horse riding for over 44 years and it was all started by Gwenda and Jack Heron. You were a dedicated volunteer Gwenda and a hard working leader. A wonderful example to the many excellent volunteers who follow in your footsteps. Rest in peace.
