I couldn't stop thinking about you today nana, Just the little things that set me off really, like how you'd take us shopping with you on a Tuesday, that was also your swim day and you'd always be so keen to get in that freezing early morning water and spend time with the "girls", Now when we drive past that road, the turnoff really, i can't get that picture of you smiling, laughing and ready to get cold out of my mind. You were alot of fun really. Always off somewhere to cure our boredom, not that there was any when we were with you. Sometimes I think I took that for granted. You would take us to the movies alot aswell, we'd be stuffed full with popcorn and lollies and ice cream. So so generous you were. I'm not sure whether i can say that a child's laughter was a strong point or a weakness of yours, you would drop anything or everything just to see or hear a laugh. You had alot off passion for kids and I think that was what made you, you. When you were unwell all you could talk about was that you just wanted to see those two little boys, you wanted them to run in give their nana a kiss, tell her they loved her and then run out as fast as they ran in. I remember you telling me that you just wanted to get in the car and drive, drive all the way to Warkworth and stop at that place you and Ted always had lunch, you said you wanted to get back in the car and keep driving, keep driving until you got to the batch. That was your home away from home, your sanctuary. You loved it.... if I didn't know any better I'd say that you were addicted to op shopping, but it was never ever intended for you, you'd be on the hunt for something that "mum would wear" or something that "Ted could use". Nothing was ever for you, you were the most selfless person anyone could ever know. Even if you didn't notice it yourself, I'm certain that we all did. Every single time we'd walk into your house there was baking, man you loved to bake. The kitchen was yours, and you used it to the max. Magic slice was the magical favourite, I'm keen for some right now just talking about it if I'm being honest, but no one made it like you, it had a special kind of love in it. A love, a vibe that only you could give.
I miss you more than words can explain, nothing is the same without you and it's a weird feeling to have. "You were and Angel In the shape of my mum"
