Dear Terrie and family
We were so sorry to hear of Lindsay's sudden death. Please accept our deepest sympathy.
Lindsay was a good friend and workmate of the staff of the National Plant Materials team of the Soil Conservation Centre, Aokautere. We enjoyed Lindsay's sense of humour and his forthright opinions freely given. Typical of enquiring scientific minds and independent thinkers!
Best wishes

Oh how we will all miss you at the beach! We can't thank you enough for all the fishing trips with Matt and fueling his passion for fishing. Lindsay's sudden death has been a shock to us given he was with us in Wellington just 3-days earlier at the NZ Horticulture Export Authority's (NZ HEA) board meeting. He was in good form with some typically short astute solutions to a range of issues. He has contributed ably to the NZ HEA over the past 6-years as a grower representative. He has been a strong advocate and leader of the persimmon industry over many years and will be sorely missed by all. On behalf of the NZHEA board and staff, our sincerest sympathies to Terrie, Duane and the Wells family.
NZ HEA board members: Wade Armstrong (Chairman), Andrew Fenton, Peter Luxton, Mick Ahern.
NZ HEA staff: Simon Hegarty (CEO), Barbara Mare.

Lindsay Wells: The big brother I never had, one of the best neighbours I could ever have, the very good friend, the fellow Friday night debater (until the advent of Google!) and Ken's good buddy of some 13 years with whom he is no doubt now sharing a Blue Sapphire or two. RIP Lindsay and thanks for everything.

So sorry to hear of Lindsay's death. Lindsay was in my technician intake at FRI in 1969. I shared flats with him in Rotorua a number of times. A unforgettable Toga party in winter at our Koutu flat. I'm glad I caught up with him at the technicians reunion a few years back. He was a larger than life character with views he was only too happy to share. He will be missed.
