My dear friend Margaret, we had known each other since we were two years of age as next door neighbours. 65 years later we were still friends. I have lovely memories of us growing up. We biked to College together, then Margaret went into Accounting at Hollis Stratton and Lawson and me into the CBA Bank in Masterton. When Margaret met Kelvin we used to go out as a foursome with my husband. Cabarets, dances, then each others bridesmaid, then our children came along. Although we both shifted cities and never lived in the same city, each time we met it was like we had never been apart. I was fortunate enough to see Margaret on Saturday 24th March before I flew to Australia, and I planned to spend the day with her on our return, but sadly this was not to be. Margaret helped me find the answers to my family via genealogy, and even to the end when I left on Saturday after seeing her, she had text me with an answer to find something even though she was so ill. You will be missed Margaret, Kelvin, Bev, Michelle, Lee and Craig will miss you dearlyxxx

To Kelvin and family, sorry we lost touch over the years, remember back to all the progressive dinners , alway had good times, remember when you announced that you were moving and all the work Margaret went to bottling spaghetti to help out when you arrived in Auckland, fantastic provider, alway in our thoughts, take care Kelvin. Love the Ratters

So sorry to learn of Margaret's death. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy Kelvin & family. So sorry I couldn't be there to farewell Margaret as I am overseas currently. Margaret & I met through genealogy at the North Shore group in the 1970's & we have never lost touch since then. Much love, Sandi Halling (Hedstrom).
