Kia Orana to my beautiful and gentle god-mother. Your 'Taonga' and Tapu' spirit has brought so much 'impact and influence' to my life and to my Rarotongan/Tahitian family. Nga mihi nui kiakoe e te Wahine toa (to the most powerful woman)I've ever known...

Your name was bestowed upon me by my mother before she passed away and to this day I live to tell my story and your story.

Thank you to Michael (wonderful husband and I call him intelligent), Simon, Sally and Richard (amazing children) for sharing their beautiful Mum with me during my temporarily upbringing into their home (Seaview mansion I call it) and their lives...

E aere ra e taku metua vaine kia akangaroi koe i roto ite rima o to tatou Atua ite rangiteitei. (Go and rest my Mum, in the hands of the Lord in the Heavens. Your advise, whakatauki (proverbs)and kindness are embedded in me and that is Marian Hila Tuaivi. E Tino Ataahua Koe (you are very beautiful).

Sad day for my family and I. The funeral of my parents and family's dear friend... and my godmother. A beautiful ceremony. Marian touched the lives of so many but I know she would have loved today. A touching tribute to the woman who had the most infectious laugh, sang with the best pitch I've ever heard, righted wrongs in both politics and life, sought to make the world an unbiased place and fought as the fiercest of advocates for those left without a voice. To you, I wish safe travels. All our love, always.
