Mr Hollis was my maths teacher at Manurewa High School back in the early 80's - I have never forgotten him - he was a great teacher and had a wicked sense of humour. I remember he used to drive a little orange Honda Civic I think and the boys picked it up and turned it sideways in his carpark - he thought it was hilarious.

Loved and respected as a great Calculus teacher and colleague. Sad to hear. Much love to Murray's family and dear ones.

HOLLIS, Murray Edward Ellery. Loved father of Christopher and Rebecca, and loved brother of Peter, Gary, Noel (deceased), and sisters-in-law Claire, Cynthia, and Frances, and families. Murray gave a dedicated 47 years of service to the teaching of maths, history and German at Ngaruawahia College and Manurewa High School, and sadly because of his sudden, unexpected death at 67, will not be able to enjoy and reflect on his accomplishments that retirement would have brought him. A Service will be held at the Manukau Memorial Gardens Crematorium Chapel, 361 Puhinui Road, Papatoetoe on Saturday 21 October at 12.30pm.
