We just read about this sad and shocking news in Kings Courier (Dec 16). It is so hard to believe Stuart has gone. The Hayward kids (Bruce, Gary and Jane) have such happy memories of fun times with the King family in the 1950s and 1960s - all those joint family picnics to every place possible and more (and usually in the rain). The annual Christmas Eve revalry at the Kings place that went on well after Santa had delivered his presents, and the many joint family holidays at Rotoiti with Graeme, Jeanette, Stuart, Frank and Becks.
The whole Hayward whanau (now 32 of us) send our sympathies to the wider king whanau.

My dear friend, Gail. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember in the 90's, when you would have a dinner party and I would ask Stu about the Tiriti o Waitangi. :) I loved his honest replies. Tino aroha ki a koe, e hoa, me to whanau hoki. Huge Loves to you, my friend and your family xx

Thanks for the brilliant Sunday morning runs at Woodhill. It was a highlight of the week. You were always so interested in everyone else and the great conversations continued at the breakfasts at Gumdiggers lane Thanks for your company and friendship. You will be missed Stuart.
Condolences to Gail, Julia, Katie and the wider family.
Deepest sympathy
