Dearest Brett. I've only just heard of your passing. My son's asked after you, only this evening so we decided to look you up online. How terribly sad we all were to read of your passing. Thank you so much for your kindness in years past.

We spent a lot of time hanging out together when I was in high school. He was a funny, outgoing boy and a good friend.

I remember traveling to Israel on Academy in 1978 and developed a nice friendship with Brett till late 80s, where we reconnected in Perth. unfortunately we lost touch. I remember him as a jovial, friendly, kind, warm, intelligent man. Very easy to talk to, very sad to hear about his passing. May Brett's family have long, happy, healthy lives. May Brett's soul be amongst the righteous.

So sad to hear of Brett's passing so soon after we had had a most enjoyable catch-up chat, about old times and new, at the recent reunion of classmates. It's surprising how much some of us change after not having seen each other for so long - yet others remain exactly the same as Brett did for me. Some good times spent at Grammar including playing with Brett in the same soccer teams. RIP Brett - will hold onto the good memories of times enjoyed together.

Very sad to have just learned of Brett's passing. I have only just heard the news. We were good friends and classmates at AGS but I don't think we ever met again after our school days, sadly.

Sorry to learn of Brett's passing. Many happy memories of friends and years at AGS. Exchanges such as this page bring awareness off the frailty and temporary nature of human life.
Thank you, Nick, for posting this.

I heard of Brett's passing through another Auckland grammar classmate - I was a pupil there 1964-1965. I also knew Brett through scouting at Mt Eden, and I think we did the First Class trip together. I met him once more in the 80s when he visited Christchurch and we caught up. He was a friendly person with a great smile. My condolences to his family.

Brett was a dear person. I knew him closely for a span of years from early days playing rugby when we were 10 years old at Normal Primary School, right through Auckland Grammar, and then occasionally in the ensuing years. I can clearly remember him taking me sailing in his Flying Ant and teaching me how to survive by tipping the boat over. My love to his memory and his wonderful family who showed a hospitality and warmth I can feel to this day.
