So sorry to hear about this. I was an aircraft instrument apprentice with Verne and he was very good to me. I remember him with others doing a very professional mime act on the hardstand at the TEAL maintenance base at Mechanics Bay.
My condolences to the family.

Our thoughts are with the family of a great man, with a ready smile and willing attitude. He was appreciated by all those he worked with here and will be missed for his knowledge and his dry humour.

My condolences to Vern's family on his passing. I was a friend and colleague of Vern for many years when he was a practicing Marine Corrosion Consultant.
We collaborated on a number of marine projects involving corrosion issues and everybody respected his sound knowledge of the industry and how to mitigate corrosion in boats, yachts and marinas.

My condolences to Verns family.
I knew him through the marine galvanic diagnostic service he operated.
I always found him to be obliging courteous and helpful. He became more than just a technician in offering a truly human side to me. He extended not just his technical expertise but the hand of friendship.
He will be sorely missed by boaties.
A good man in every aspect of the word.
