I'm so sorry to hear this news. Ray taught me when I was a young teenager to an older teenager in his wee studio in the arcade in TeAtatu Nth. He did such great work. I went to the UK and continued my guitar skills, playing celtic guitar accompaniament for fiddle and pipe tunes. I also picked up the harp and now have just fallen in with a dobro player. We've just made our first CD. I live and breathe music. Ray was a saviour and taught me a great deal about life as well as music. He was one of my favourite music teachers. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and my deep condolances to his family.

Dear Ray, just heard the news, such a fantastic flute player and such a warm and genuine person. Had such a lovely conversation with You. Wishing You and Your family peace. I'm so glad and feel very lucky I got to meet You. The Principals forever! God Bless, Dhani

Dear Raphael, we were good friends and neighbours during our early teenage years in Cromwell Street. We lost contact for many years, only to catch up when you were teaching my son and daughter the guitar in Te Atatu. I was honoured to be able to sit in and play a few numbers with you and your group at Elhambra Restuarant some years ago. Our thoughts are with your family at this time, kind regards to Clifford, Dixie, Maria and family. R I P.
Tom and Shirley Morris.

Lovely Raphael, I'm so happy I met you. Your great and positive personality was overwelming. You had a special influence in this world. I wish your family all the best. Especially my aunt Resu, keep strong.....xxx Nancy
