Paul Fickenscher Obituary

Paul H. Fickenscher, 97, of McMurray, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.
Mr. Fickenscher met his wife, Peggy, on a blind date in Cleveland, Ohio. They married and moved to Pittsburgh, where he worked as an electrical engineering salesman with Clark Control, A.O. Smith and GE, until he was 83 years old.
He and his wife spent nearly 60 years in Peters Township raising three children, Paul William, Gwen and Dee.
Mr. Fickenscher was an electrical engineering graduate of Penn State in 1939 and was Delta Sigma Phi. He was very active in the community as a Republican Committeeman and a member of Lions Club, Socialaires and Boy Scouts as he himself was an Eagle Scout.
He spent his last years wonderfully cared for at Friendship Village, Upper St. Clair.
Surviving, in addition to his three children, are seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Arrangements are by Beinhauers, 724-941-3211. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, in the St. Clair Room at Friendship Village, 1290 Boyce Road, Upper St. Clair.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department, Attention: Michele Harmel, 610 East McMurray Road, McMurray, PA 15317, to establish a park bench in memory of Paul and Peg Fickenscher.
