Grady A. 'Art' Smith III, 62, passed away peacefully Dec 13, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Grady fought a very tough battle but was ready to come home to be with his family. Grady joined his family, with the caring support of hospice, so he could pass peacefully surrounded by those he loved, see the Christmas decorations and fall sleep with Shelby in his arms one more time.
Grady worked for the city of Leesburg in the finance department for over 30 years when he retired and became a very successful realtor/broker. He loved his life, God, his family, friends and being a realtor.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lahti Smith, two sons Stephen Kyle Smith and Brian Casey Smith; seven grandchildren, all who call him Paw Paw; sister Deborah Davis (Ron); brother Leo Clark Smith (Carey).
A Visitation will be held at the Leesburg Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main Street on Sat, Dec 23, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 am followed by a service at 10:00 am. Grady was the only realtor that would call us back when we moved here from Texas, he took the time to show us lower priced homes. He was a kind man and will be missed by our community.

I have closed on several properties with Grady in the past years and he was such a nice guy. I was so sorry to hear of his passing and my thoughts and prayers to his family.

I worked with Grady at Coldwell Banker and am sorry to read of his passing - although, it is comforting to know he passed peacefully. May your memories sustain you through the coming days, weeks, months and years.
