I send my condolences to Karens family. Karen was the best "big sister" to me in our sorority. I have wonderful memories of our frequent Bridge games and shared spaces! She gave my AF Pilot some treasured airplane photos when we visited in St. Louis! I always looked forward to Christmas Cards to see what she was up to in the past few years. She was a good friend and classy lady! I know she will be missed by her family and many friends!
I was blessed to have a wonderful reunion lunch with Karen in Gainesville in May. We hadn't seen each other since St. Mary's Academy 50 years ago. Karen was bright, lively, full of joy, and very grateful for all the good things life had brought her -- a "charmed life," she called it. I admired her great competence, as evidence by a life in management and an impressive hobby of woodworking. I'm so sorry that we won't have the chance to chat again.
Karen, I know you are watching over us. Your family is one of few that is so kind.
Your celebration of life was beautiful and this candle will remain burning forever.
Although after 50 years hadn´t see Karen or heard from her, I was looking forward to see her in our meeting in Chicago.
My condolences to all her family, through the messages I have read here I can see she left a print around her family and friends. Her legacy will stay as a roll model. God bless her.
I knew Karen during our high school years. It is with sadness that I regret not having the opportunity to reconnect with her, to hear from her about her joys & her life. Even her smallest effort, like the movement of the butterfly's wings, will live on always - - MJ
Thank you to all of mom's friends who have posted such kind comments here. She was obviously as wonderful of a friend as she was a mom.
I would like to extend my condolences to the Arens family. She will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers, and remembered as a wonderfully caring lady. I will miss her greatly.
I knew Karen and her family for many years. Our parents played bridge together. Their home was always open and welcoming , as was Karen. She will be missed by many but always remembered. God bless her family and friends. Please God, give us all the strength to deal with this loss.

Karen, you will always be remembered as an accomplished lady who could take on any challenge with dignity and class.
Karen was one of the most giving people I have ever met. She had such a positive influence on my life. Rest in peace Karen and may God bless your family during these difficult times.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Arens family. Karen was a wonderful friend to so many, especially my sister. I am lucky to have known her and her memory will remain close in my heart.
Our group of friends will always remember fondly Mrs. Arens' abundant kindness and generous hospitality… especially during one infamous road trip we all took to Chicago. She hosted too many of Mark's St. Louis friends (including me), in her home…what a memorable trip, thanks to Mrs. Arens. Thoughts and Prayers to the entire Arens family.
Karen you are a beautiful person and a kind friend to me. you will always be in my heart.
You were the first woman scientist/computer wiz I ever met, almost 50 years ago. I was impressed then, and again when we connected more recently. Your strength and skills were amazing. My sympathies to your family in the loss of a remarkable woman.
you will always live in our heart and prayers. take comfort in knowing that you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
