Barbara, Troy and Tracy,
I just heard about Don's passing from Martina; my heart and prayers are with you all. I vividly remember Mr. Leonard's science class and how much I liked him immediately. I can see him right now standing in the classroom. He was tough, but he made me enjoy learning. Mostly though, I remember how welcomed you all made my sister and I feel in your home. Sleepovers with Tracy; swimming in the lake (and being rescued by Mr. Leonard - Tracy, you know what I mean - I was mortified!;), alligator alley... and lots of other very fond memories that I won't mention because Don & Barbara may or may not have known about them! Most importantly, Don was a father figure that I desperately needed in my life at the time; a trustworthy and genuinely caring man. I think he knew that I needed him and his family and he chose to care, to be there for me. I will always remember fondly the simple joy being with your family brought me. Thank you, Mr. Leonard; your example of kindness and hospitality made a lasting difference in my life. I am "paying it forward" and infinately happier having known you.
