The Drivers' Ed car only had AM radio in 1987 and I swear "Okie from Muskogee" was always playing. Mr. Rankin would sing along at the top of his lungs while we held back our giggles. For that I will remember him always as a man of joy.
The world is a sadder place without him.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Rankin's passing. Condolences to his family. Lee was a great teacher, coach, and friend. He will be missed. RIP Lee!

Thank you, Mr Rankin and RIP. I have so appreciated your great drivers ed teaching skills especially living in the south where very few people know how to handle a car on ice and snow.
Mr Rankin was also a great motivator as a swim coach in his early years at ACS.
We cherish the fun memories of him.

What a sad day for all. Mr. Rankin, you were the best teacher ever. You scared us to death the first day of school in 9th grade. You were such a great driver's ed teacher as well. I will never forget driving by my house and telling you their was a bear in the woods. You stopped the car right there. It was April Fools Day. You will be miss by so many. May you rest in peace!! SO sorry for your family's great loss!!
