I am heartbroken. Leslie taught me to ride more than 30 years ago. Her barn was part of my life growing up, and I learned much from her. I am so sorry for your loss, Charlie. I carry a part of Leslie, and the horses of hers that I loved (Patrick, Katie, Scandal, and other), with me always.

Words can't even express how heartbroken I was when I heard of Leslie's passing. She taught me so much about horses, the sport and life in general. There aren't many people in this world that have the strength and dedication that she did. She was my #1 role model growing up. You will always have a huge place in my heart, Leslie. RIP.

My sincerest condolences to you as well, Charlie. We are all thinking about you during this difficult time.

We were all so sad to hear of Leslie's passing. She and Charlie were a huge part of our family for so many years while in MA. There are so many wonderful memories we will cherish of our times together.

Rest in peace my dear friend.

Dear Charlie and family,
So very sorry for your loss...
My daughter Meredith started riding lessons in Holden when she was 9 years old. She is now 36 and is still riding, competing and has owned numerous horses. Thank you for being the start of her many memories...Rest in peace.

I will miss her fiercely strong character and easy smile and her great horse teaching insights. Leslie was my friend we shared many good times as John lived at their farm when we met and I drove there every few days to see him. I got to knew Charlie and Leslie over the next few years. Without a doubt a wonderful dedicated couple with great values and integrity. She was smart, funny, demanded your attention and performance when riding with her and was full of good advice about horse keeping. She was a solid, honest professional in the horse world. She will be missed by many of us who were honored to call her friend.
