OWEN, LINK W. "BILLY"
Shakopee, MN- Link W. "Billy" Owen, a longtime resident of the Ocala area, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, in Shakopee, Minnesota, after an extended illness.
A third generation horseman, Mr. Owen was retired from the thoroughbred horse industry.
Survivors include a brother, Lon Owen (Vicki) of Georgia; sister, Lee Dee Ford (Jim) of Texas; sister Lynn Bartram (Ray) of Texas; sister, Lane Andrianoff of Ohio; sons, William Owen of West Virginia, Link W. Owen II of Alabama, Kyle W. Owen of Florida, David G. Owen of Florida; and daughters Christine Meadows of Florida and Mary "Mosie" Hempfling of Alabama.
From the family, a special thanks to lifelong friend, Jerry Simmons of Shakopee, Minnesota, for his loyalty and devotion during a time of need.
A date and time for a memorial service will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Shands Transplant Center, Gainesville, Florida.

Oh Billy,I just learned that you are no longer with us...we were so young when we met so long ago at W.P. and we had an immediate connection. You were such a terrific friend and rider. We didn't keep in touch that well but I know that didn't matter like it happens with people that really care about each other...My condolences to all your family. Bless you.
