FELT, WILLIAM M., 66
Ocala - William M. Felt, resident of On Top Of The World, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Bill was born and raised on Cape Cod, MA in the town of Orleans and graduated from Nauset Regional High School, Class of 1965. After graduating from high school, he entered the U.S. Navy and had served in Vietnam. Bill married his high school sweetheart in August of 1967 and they have two children, David Richard Felt of Martinsburg, OH and Kimberly Ann Lusher of Dennisport, MA.
Bill was a member of TimberRidge Community Church of Dunnellon where he served in any capacity he was called to. He was an active member of the Angela S. Santos Post#4781 Veterans of Foreign War where he held the office of Commander in 2002-2003 and also served as District 22 Commander in 2007-2009 and was recognized as an All American Commander in 2009. He was also a member of their honor guard until he had to retire due to too many responsibilities. He was the Department Community Service Chairman for the State of Florida in 2009-2010. Bill was also a member of the Military Order Of The Cooties where he planned to take the office of Grand Commander. He was a member of Orleans-Eastham Elks Lodge #2572, as well as the American Legion in Cooper City, FL. He was always in accompaniment by his dog, Cannon.
Bill is preceded in death by his father William and mother Elinor of Orleans, MA. Besides his beloved wife Marygrace, Bill is survived by two children: David Richard Felt of Martinsburg, Ohio and Kimberly Ann Lusher of Dennisport, MA; six brothers and sisters: David Felt of Hollywood, FL, Jane Leonard of Harwich, MA, Donna Leger of Brewster, MA, Robert Felt of Orleans, MA, Jeffrey Farrar of Electric City, WA and Laurie Jalbert of Harwich, MA. Bill is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Allyson Ayala, of Dennisport, MA, Dalton Felt of Knoxville, TN, Anthony Ayala of Dennisport, MA, Kylee Staiger of TX, Aleks Staiger of Martinsburg, OH, Christin Staiger of Martinsburg, OH and James Lusher of Harwich, MA and several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
The family will receive their friends Tuesday, August 27th from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at which time the Memorial Service will be held at the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL. Committal with full military honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Legacy Hospice House of Ocala.
