I was saddened to learn of Richard's passing. During the 1980s, I had the pleasure of serving with Richard on the Citrus Engineering Conference Committee. I always enjoyed hearing his laugh when he & I discussed some needed changes in long standing procedures of the Committee. We were somewhat successful in making some of those changes.

May God Bless your family as you deal with his passing.

Dick was a wonderful person and a big asset to our FSHN dept. I missed him when he retired and am so sorry I did not know of his illness.

Dick was such a pleasure to work with at UF. I was sad to hear of his passing. God speed my friend.

Cathy and Neil,
Your Dad is certainly in a much better, and more peaceful place than he has been, and will now be reunited with your Mom. I have so many fond memories of our growing up, and of the good times at your parents house. Your Mother was always the most welcoming and gracious "Southern Hostess" and they both always weclomed me with open arms. It was easy to feel at "home" at the Dick and Dot Matthews residence and many happy memories were made there. Your parents seemed to "play" off each other, and were so compatible with their love of culture, Florida sports, and entertaining! Find comfort and strength that he is no longer in pain, and will once again be in a happy and loving place. His suffering each day is over.

We have fond memories square dancing with Dick & Anna at the former Oak Run Twirler
Club.
