Hi Nene,

I'm sorry my message didn't get to you sooner so people could hear from me of how wonderful of a woman you are and how much you truly meant to me. Yesterday I made the drive up from Cincinnati to say goodbye to you but unlike every other time when I would come visit you, this time you didn't cry when I left and from that I knew you were finally at peace. But as you know, it was a beautiful ceremony and I knew you would have been so proud to hear the kind words left by my brothers and my mom and dad. You were so many things to our family: a friend, a mother, a grandma, a great-grandma...that losing you is losing all of those things all at once. You will be dearly missed. I know each of us will take a life lesson from you and it will not only live within us forever but it will be passed down to our own... Especially your Christmas cookies and mashed potato recipe :) Thank you for dealing with me as I was a kid and being my dearest friend and grandma as I grew older. I know that you have been reunited with YaYa and I am happy now you two can go back to watching All My Children. I love you Nene. I will miss you but I know we will see each other again.

Dearest Nita,

You had at least two other names you were known by in our family - Beewah and Neenee. I have so many fond memories of you watching over us when our parents were able to squeeze in a vacation without the kids. From making Mexican hat sandwiches out of baloney to baking apple pies from the apple trees in the back yard, you made those times enjoyable for us. I loved being around you - hearing your stories, listening to soap operas on the radio with you, trying to learn "This Little Piggy" and "Hansel & Gretel" in German from you - but mostly to be blessed by you caring for us as if we were your own. And, believe me, we all felt that love.

You were ALWAYS present with some incredibly sage advice and perspective that has benefited me, my brothers and sister throughout our lives. Thank you.

You will be missed by us all. You're now with God, and I'm sure He and your fellow angels are smiling from all the love you brought to others.

I wish peace and comfort to Butch, Chicky and their loved ones during this difficult time.

Much love to you, Beewah...

Can't forget all of the German I was able to practice with you when we visited YaYa. We love you and we'll miss you!

Scott you put it perfectly. Nita, I will truly miss you! Your little Marcos with love you forever. Thanks for always taking such good care of me and taking me to the bus stop on your hip. You were always so fun and loving and I will never forget the three little pigs in German as I recite to my boys today! Love you.
