Carl Eugene "Gene" Nolt

Carl Eugene "Gene" Nolt went home to his heavenly Father on August 5, 2014.

He was born on January 31, 1939 to parents Lloyd and Gertrude Nolt near Homerville, Ohio. Eugene was instrumental in bringing Habitat for Humanity to the Akron area, served as a Project Manager for one of it's houses and once carried Bibles and Christian study materials in to Christians in Hong Kong. He worked as an x-ray technician at Akron City Hospital for 28 years and retired from The Haven of Rest Rescue Mission.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Nolt and children, Ronald Eugene Nolt and Rebecca Gay (Nolt) Ault (Donald), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 4 to 6, followed by a Celebration of Life. It will be held at Eastwood Church of the Brethren at 581 Darrow Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Haven of Rest, 175 E. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44309.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Nolt through my job at CVS pharmacy where he and Mrs. Nolt were my customers. What a wonderful person he was. He was always smiling and had such a positive outlook on life. Rest in peace.
