August 13, 2014
As a newly-fledged Pediatrician in Hudson, Carolyn Aungst showed her support by bringing her three children, Holle, Heide, and Grant, to my office for their Pediatric care. At that point, she certainly had more experience with children than I did but she listened patiently to what I might have to say and I listened and learned from her.
She touched a lot of people through her column in the Hudson Hub. My wife and I still have the clipping from the paper that she wrote when we adopted our daughter, Sarah Marie, in November 1976. It started "Pink ribbons abound..." That was such a kindness for us for her to mention our big event in her column. It also was a neat little way to get my name in the newspaper and help spread the word that I was in town without some type of blatant advertisement.
Thank you, Carolyn, for all the love you showed us and the sunshine that you brought to the people of Hudson in your column.
As a side note, I lost my mother in 2011, also to cancer and also at the age of 88 years. Interesting coincidence.

Heide--we are so sorry that we could not attend your mom's memorial. We have been on vacation. We wish you great memories. Miss her but remember her fondly.
