Dear Joan, Janie and family,
My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Don was such a genuinely nice guy who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone plus a great sense of humor. I will always remember what great fun we had watching the girls play basketball. Everyone could see the pride and love he had for his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Don told my Dad,Herb you need to get your kids out of that east Akron neighborhood. He sold his house on malvern to us cheap. He bought my first pair of adidas running shoes and we would run on saturdays past Hale farm, thru the covered bridge. We always made a race of it when we approached the car. He is a very kind and generous man. Because of Him, who shed his Blood for all, we will run again!
Dear Joan, So sorry to read of Dan's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Janie - I'm so sorry about your dad. He was such a sweet, sweet man. I have fond memories of him from years ago. I remember when we lived together in college, he would call when you weren't there sometimes. I vividly remember many conversations with him. I would say "Hey Daddy-O, Janes not here, want me to tell her you called?" His reply always was (in that slow, laid back friendly voice) "Yes....and how are you doing?" He always asked how I was, and was always interested in my reply. I will always remember his kindness, and his great love for you and Donnie. Thinking of you.
I was so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. For many years he treated me as an extended member of your wonderful family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
Steve & family,

My younger sister, Susan, would type the times for cross-country meets & then mimeograph them! (her words!) & my youngest brother, Tom, had him as a track coach. My brother ran 5 & 10 k's for many years after high school. Your dad touched many lives - something to be very proud of....

We enjoyed years shared cheering with Donald for his son Donnie on the football field and his dear Janie on the basketball court. What fun times with Joan as well.
We cherish those memories and so respected Donald as a father, husband and friend who blessed our lives with friendship during those special times.
