I only met Jim 15 years ago. He was responsible for getting me a job at Oriana House. At that time I only knew him as a name. He had a great sense of humor. He also became a surrogate father to my daughter Dawn Lavensky. He was there for her in a number life's milestones. I love and respect him for all the things he was in our lives.
A loving uncle. A wise mind. A great wit. A devoted son. A wonderful boss. A just and honest soul. I will truly miss your laughter. May God take good care of you Jim.
To Mr. Mcavoy Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I loved this man who was my teacher at Akron U. Keep them all in order up there I know you can do it.
Love, Anne Berrodin

The Sarver Family
Dear McAvoy Family...
My deepest sympathies to your family. Jim is a great man that I had come to know and admire very much. He would always share a joke or a kind word of encouragement when ever we spoke. Although I knew him only briefly, I had respected him and his kind heart. His gentle and soft spoken demeanor was just a small part of his presence that touched my life. My prayers remain with your family ...
