I was stunned & immediately saddened to have just learned so belatedly of the news of the passing of both your mom & Bob. I had run into Bob several times over the years & he was always very congenial. He and your mom will always remain special in my heart. I am so sorry for your loss, especially when both were taken too early. Their smiles, laughter and kind hearts made indelible memories, not only for me, but also for many of the students whom they taught. What a blessing! May you & your family continue to find comfort in those shared memories.
Keeping you and Kara in my prayers. All of her family and friends that will miss Jan,an amazing servant of the Lord. May her light shine on in each of those who loved her. The peace that passes all understanding be with you, now and forever more.
Mrs. Bier was a great teacher, one of my favorites! She was the type of teacher that leaves a lasting impression on her students! She will be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to her family!
My condolences to Mr. Bier your family at this time. I had the pleasure to have Mrs. Bier for 3rd grade in 1996-1997. She was such an inspirational teacher to me. I ran into her back in 2007 at a store and she came right up to me remembering me immediately even though I was all grown up and in college. She said she was so exicted to see another one of her students continuing their education and was very excited that I was studying medicine. She always inspired her students to be the best that we could be. Thank you Mrs. Bier for your compassion and dedication to education. You will be deeply missed by many. May peace be with your family at this time.

She was a wonderful person to so many of us! She will be greatly a missed! My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time!
My heart goes out to your family. Mrs. Bier was a great teacher and she will be sadly missed.
My most influential year in school was 4th grade with Mr. Bier. I gained a sincere appreciation for learning and would have never got through multiplication without him! Of course in having Mr. Bier, we got to know Mrs. Bier from her occasional visits to the class room, or when we were passing in the halls. When I found out that my son was going to have Mrs. Bier for 3rd grade I was ecstatic! I knew he would have a phenomenal year and would walk away learning so much. She instilled a love for reading in my son and as an 8th grader he still loves to read for fun! Unfortunately, his 3rd grade year ended up being her last year and he had limited time with her before she retired. I am thankful for the time that I and my family spent with Mrs. Bier and will continue to cherish every memory.
Mr. Bier & Kara, may you find peace and comfort in your memories, she was such a wonderful, kind and caring woman!
Mrs Bier was a great teacher and a wonderful person. She was the best 4th and 6th grade teacher I could have had! What a blessing she had to be to so many. May God hold your family close and may you all find comfort in him at this difficult time.

I'm saddened by the loss of such a wonderful woman and educator. I still tell my children stories about my 4th grade teachers. She was so influential in my life. Ill never forget her warmth and caring nature she showed me as her student. My sympathies go out to the Bier family. She will always be remembered and missed.
Mrs. Biers was a great woman and teacher. I can remember sitting in her classroom in the third grade... She taught me how to write in cursive and a lot about grammar that I still use today. My heart goes out to her family, what an untimely death.... God gained another angel... R.I.P.
My deepest sympathies to the Bier family. Mr. and Mrs. Bier were teachers of mine in 4th grade at Highland Park. They both inspired me to go into the teaching field myself. May you find peace and comfort during this difficult time in God's grace.
