Heaven just became an even brighter and happier place. RIP Rocky!

Rocky was the FedEx man for our company. It was truly a joy every time we came here. Having the same last name, he and I would joke that we were related, calling each other our "Soul Sisters". He was truly a magnificent human being and I was deeply saddened for his family to hear about his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To the Williams family,
My sincerest condolences from an old neighborhood friend.
March 28, 2014

Dear Gina and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Rocky. I met Rocky through his brother Bob, whom I worked with at Chapel Hill Mall in the 70's, Bob and I became best friends and I became close with their Dad, Mom, sister Gloria and Rocky. Those years were some of the best years of my life. We formed a group of close friends that did everything together, Rocky was a part of that close knit of friends. I remember all the parties, bithdays, engagements, weddings, you name it we had a party for it, Rocky was always in attendence, making everyone laugh and always listened to those who needed someone to talk with, accepted everyone for who they were, never passing judgement only offering an open heart and an encouraging word. He was truly a gift from God, given to all that knew him. I feel blessed to have known him. After the 70's we all went our own way, however, I would run into Rocky at Lowe's every so often with his son, which I could tell he was so proud of, it showed in his eyes. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this sad time, but let it be known the angels in heaven are laughing out loud now that Rocky has arrived !

Never a dull moment when Rocky was around! Such a great guy. My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Williams, Angela and Vince. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. Joe and I were out of town for the services, I wanted to let you all know we have been thinking about you. I will always remember Rocky for his smile, and quick wit!

I am sorry for your loss. We went to high school together and had the same home room.

Went to North with Rocky. What a great guy he was then, and now. Heaven is a little brighter with him in it. So sorry for your loss.

Gina, Angela and Vince

We are sorry for the loss of your husband and father. We became to know Rocky over 20 years ago as he was our FedEx driver in downtown Akron. Rocky had an infectious personality and no matter what type of day he was having he always had a smile. He had a way of becoming a friend to everyone. Always willing to listen and lend a hand. We purchased donuts this past Sunday in his honor. Rocky my friend you are truly missed and until we see each other again keep your eye on all of us. God Bless.

I met Rocky a few years back playing basketball, he was a "great guy" and had such a positive attitude. I was deeply saddened to hear of your family's loss. Even though I only knew him for a short time and only saw him sporadically it was as if i had known him my whole life, he had that kind of impact on people. I'm sure he is in heaven playing some "hoops" and bringing smiles to many faces!

The world is a less pleasant place today. I knew Rocky for close to 30 years. I worked with him at St. Thomas Hospital for a couple of years, then for close to 15 at FedEx, a job that he was instrumental in me obtaining. So many laughs and good times. But perhaps his greatest gift was the fact that he would literally give you the shirt off his back to help a friend in need. When I transferred to the Palm Springs,Ca FedEx in 2004 my father had unexpectedly passed away. While back in Ohio for the funeral Rocky let me know that he would be more than glad to periodically check in on my mother for me. He was completely sincere about it and he had never even met my mother until the funeral. That was who he was and I will forever be proud to have known him. I will miss him. Gina, my wife and I wish you the best and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Hi Mrs. Williams this is Ally. We are all very sorry and we all miss you.
March 22, 2014
When I think of Rocky I just think of kind and smiling. I'll miss seeing him drive through the neighborhood and stopping for a chat.
March 22, 2014
Though we very seldom saw each other, Rocky could make you feel like you had never lost touch. He was definitely one of a kind and mold broken type of guy. He was all that has been said about him and more. There won't be as many smiles here on earth without him, but there sure are a lot more smiles in heaven this day.
March 21, 2014
No one other than Rocky could ever make a day brighter just by being in it! I would purposely look for him in his FedEx truck when I'd be heading to St. Thomas Hospital for something for work. He was always good for a smile-no matter what kind of day I had. He will be sorely missed by so many people. My sincere sympathy to his beloved family and friends-but we are all better for having known and been loved by him.
March 21, 2014
Always quick with a joke and a smile. We are all going to miss him so much. May God bless your family during this difficult time. You will be in our prayers.

Such a positive and good man, I am better for knowing Rocky as anyone who spent any time with him would be. 10 years at FedEx working with Rocky.
March 20, 2014
Gina, Angela and Vince my condolences to you and your family. How many people can we honestly say that God put them on earth to make us smile and feel good every time we come into contact with them? I first met Rocky when us North Hill guys started playing softball. It was so hard to play your best when you were "cracking-up" all the time. We all had so much fun when he was around! Rest in Peace old friend, and you might want to get God a pillow to hold onto because He will be laughing really, really hard for infinity! Rick Trego

I'm so sorry to hear about Rocky. If I am remembering correctly - he was one of Brian's favorite Uncles. Dear Ron and the Williams' family: I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I knew Of Uncle Rocky through Brian's tales and hilarious stories. That was way back in the early 90's. I can't help but wonder what they're doing up in Heaven together - I'm sure they're cutting' it up! My deepest sympathy to all of you...you're all such a nice family. <3 xo

Gina, Angela, Vince and all of Rocky's Family: Words cannot express the devastation Mike and I felt when we heard of Rocky's passing. We've known Rocky for well over 30 years and although we did not see him near as often as we wanted, we never forgot that he was truly one of the best. After almost 35 yrs., I smile when I think of how entertaining he was at our wedding and through the years as others have stated, he was always upbeat, amazingly kind to everyone and how he could make people laugh. I wish we could have been there for Rocky and for you Gina had we known. We are here for you now and in the years ahead. It is hard to believe that he is no longer with us and hope that the wonderful memories you have will provide you the strength moving forward.

Your Obituary was perfect. If someone did not know Rocky and read his obituary they then would know him. I have not seen him in years, but if I was to run into him after not seeing hime for years he acted as if you never lost contact. Dearest Gina, Angela and Vince,
I've know you as long as I've known Nancy....Nancy even longer and Sean and Maggie have known you for their whole life! The words are not coming easy. I loved Rocky very much...we all still do. So many memories that I have of so many great times...He cut in on Nancy at our wedding so HE could dance with ME! A recent attempt at Karaoke....after which there wasn't a dry seat in the house! We shared a love for Art and Comics that we could talk about and share with each other no matter how long it had been since we saw each other last.
We'll see you all this weekend and share more stories I hope.....but right now, I'm going to go back and listen to some old cartoon themes ( like 'Mighty Mouse', 'Dudley Do-Right' and 'Magilla Gorilla' ) and smile and think of my friend for awhile.

Love always, Tom, Nancy Sean and Maggie

Dear Gina, Angela & Vincent: I worked with Rocky for over 17 years at Fedex. No matter what the situation it was he who was always smiling and sharing a pleasant compliment with a twinkle in his eyes. What I will remember the most is years back when we were all stressed on meeting an early pull; he would get on the radio and sing to us. It was his way of cheerleading us through the trenches. He knew how to make all of us smile!
March 19, 2014
So sorry for your loss. Rocky truly was a kind, gentle, fun loving guy. Many people will miss him as he touched so many lives.

I was so saddened to see Rocky's name in the obit! I knew him 35-40 years ago, around and after high school and hadn't seen him since, then last year I ran into him at DeVitis's and he acted like we just seen each other the day before! He reminded me of some great times we had together - what a great guy! My sympathy to his wife, children and siblings ... Please be comforted knowing he is with the Lord and that you'll see him again! [I just lost my brother 3 1/2 weeks ago, so I know a little of what you're going through.]
March 19, 2014
Gina My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Rocky R.I.P. Always a kind word and a large smile for everyone.

Dear Gina, Angela and Vincent: I never once saw Rocky without a smile. Even back at Jennings so many years ago, he was always in a good mood and was so sweet and kind to everyone. He is one of those men who truly made the world a happier and better place.
