Gladys Hyatt Obituary
She was born in Greensburg, Ohio and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her son, Bob Velka; her parents, Allen and Ada (Stark) Mathie; brother, Carl Mathie; sisters, Marie Sherman and Dorene Culip; and dear friend, Steve Paul; she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jeanette Velka; granddaughters, Melissa (David) Johns of Winchester, Virginia and Carrie (Ken) Salmon of Barberton; great- grandsons, Max Johns and Zackery Salmon; sister, Grace Jones of Green, Ohio; and her very dear friend, Betty Viar.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Canal Fulton Cemetery, Canal Fulton, with Rev. Glen Rogers, Jr. officiating. There are NO calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Temple Baptist Church, 1212 Greensburg Road (P.O. Box 181), Green, OH 44232-0181.

We only met Gladys a few years ago when she came to our house for Thanksgiving with our Uncle Steve. What a sweet, kind, and gentle women. I always enjoyed her company and will miss her. God Bless her and I'm sure she is playing cards with Steve.

Gladys and her husband Ray were my closest neighbors while I attended school in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio and often babysat when I was in 6TH grade. Recently I was looking at pictures of them at my wedding in 1971. I am so saddened by the news of her passing since I had not seen her in many years; but talked to her a few years ago by phone. My prayers go out to her family that God may bring peace and comfort to them.
