J. Fleenor Obituary

J. McKee Fleenor

J. McKee Fleenor was born in Gainesville, Texas, on May 7, 1937, the son of John McKee and Ruby Violet Fleenor.

Jay graduated from Staunton Military Academy, Virginia in 1956 and from Ohio University in 1960 with a bachelor's degree in commerce. He settled in Akron after graduation. He filled his life with things he loved: sports, the outdoors and wildlife, golf, reading and music, going to plays, movies and out to eat. He loved his wife, Eve very much and has missed her greatly since her passing in 2008.

God brought them together and gave them many good years. Jay was also preceded in death by his brother, Roy; sister, Ruby "Billie"; niece Carol Kay Fleenor; and nephew, Billy Bob. The passing of close family members was very painful to Jay, for he loved family very much. He is survived by his sister-in-law and nephews, Betty, Rodney and John Fleenor, all of Texas; and his niece, Betty "Sandy" Reynolds and her husband Terry of Green, Ohio; and nephew, Glen Andrews of Akron, Ohio.

Jay and Eve were both blessed by the care and attention received in their last years at St. Luke Lutheran Community, Portage Lakes.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013, 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
