Dick took a real interst in me as a teenager and built my golf swing in his backyard with whiffle balls. I caddied for him. My favorite song he wrote was "Ever now and then"
Richard, Was a Multi Talented person, he played good golf, you could tell he had this sort of quiet intelligence with much charisma and a great personality. Dick loved music and loved to play the piano and wrote some songs that lyrics were his part of his life. He recorded some of his songs and I am sure family and friends that were privy to his compositions will have years of enjoyment listening that will always bring fond memories of a father and friend. I met Dick in the 70's through a mutual friend and co-worker of Dick's, George Kiefer. I actually tried calling Dick a few times as I had visited him and we had both played piano as we laughed and enjoyed the day. I am sorry I didn't know of Dick's passing until today 8/26/2012 as I travel. I am happy to have known Dick and will alway's remember the good times we had. R.I.P. my friend.Tony Rubino
I met you at the Sheraton & the golf league told me your name was Peter. Even after I learned your real name- the nickname stuck. That was almost 20 years ago. Just last month you laughed & said I was the only one that still called you that :-) Our lasting friendship meant so much to me. I am so glad we got to spend some time together the last few months. I'll miss you Peter. My sincere sympathy to your family.
I worked with Dick at General Tire. He was a great guy! My condolences to his family.
