James Cork Obituary

THEN AND NOW

James H. Cork

James H. Cork, 80, of Canal Fulton, passed away at his home Tuesday, February 24, 2015.

Born in Hattiesburg, Miss. to the late Ferrell Sr. and Margaret (Anderson) Cork, Jim attended Mississippi State University for five and a half years pursuing a degree in Animal Husbandry before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He spent most of his life in the Akron/Canal Fulton area where he retired as a supervisor from Manchester Tool after 30 plus years of service. In his final days he was lovingly cared for at home by wife, Patricia and daughter, Kerri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Rev. Ferrell (Billie) Cork Jr. and sister, Lullu (Norman) Harrold. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 44-1/2 years, Patricia (Hupp); children, Toni Smith, Kerri Cabell, James C. (Bonnie) Cork; grandchildren, Shannon Smith, Amanda Cabell, and Anna, Kaitlyn and James P. Cork.

Funeral service will be held SATURDAY, February 28, 2015, 11 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93), Canal Fulton, Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating.
