To the Family: John was a friend. I met John through our love of Ham Radio. It was in 1979 or 80, John was on every band, every radio he had.... he loved it. He was always thoughtful and kind, his friendship will be missed by all.. I just talked to him in May and was about to contact him again when I found his call in QST... My condolences to his family and friends.

I was friends with John for over 10 years. We worked at Roadway together a long time ago. After I left we still kept in touch over email. We also talked on the radio a couple times. John was a very experienced ham radio operator. I learned a lot from him. He gave me great advice. Most importantly he was a great friend.

John was one of the first people to contact me on the Talk of The Villages online forum with offers of advice about our GPS. I was fortunate to meet him in The Villages. He was my go-to tech guy and also a friend. He was a kind and gentle man, and I will miss him greatly.

Heartfelt condolences to John's family. I worked with John at Roadway. When our printers were down, he was the first person we called. I think we even called him Printer John :-) I can remember his name & phone # on a yellow post-it note, one of those important numbers you always had handy. John was always so friendly and helpful. There was never a problem too big for him to tackle - he even researched solutions on his own time at home, until he found the answer. We could always count on John. He always showed up quickly, with a smile on his face and armed with a good story. I remember his love of Florida.
Rest in peace, John. You will be missed!
