John N. Francu
John N. Francu, 91, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
He was born in Campbell, Ohio and was a retired school teacher from Campbell Memorial High School. John was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a member of Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church where he sang in the choir and was a fish fry worker. He enjoyed music and sports. He was also involved with the Campbell Education Association and was also a member of the local VFW.
John was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maria (Stoica) Francu and sisters, Valerie O'Mellan and Victoria Matune. He is survived by his wife, Carmel V. (Prezioso) Francu; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Michael Billirakis; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Marilyn Francu; nephew, Steven Matune; and grandchildren, Christine and Cynthia Billirakis, Veronica (Tony) Rosario and Jessica Francu.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 12 p.m. at Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd., Fairlawn, Ohio 44333, where John will lie in state and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Very Rev. Dr. Ian G. Pac-Urar officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations in his memory may be made to the church.
