Marilyn Black Obituary
Marilyn A. Black, 81, of Manchester, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Akron General Medical Center.
She was born July 14, 1932 in Millersburg, Ohio to the late Joseph and Barbara Rupp, was a graduate of Millersburg High School and St. Thomas School of Nursing. She was a nurse at St. Thomas Hospital, Head Nurse at Babcock & Wilcox, Van Buren office and a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, where she was active in the Women's Guild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marc, and is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Don; son, Jeff (Deborah) Black; grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Black; niece, Diane (Jim) Bray; great-nephews, Jamie, Pat and Beau Bray; great-niece, Jody Roosa; great-great-nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial FRIDAY, 12 NOON at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron (procession will form at the CHURCH), with Fr. Louis Thomas officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron. Friends may call THURSDAY, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 East Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis DeSales Church or a charity of your choice. (Swigart-Easterling, 330-854-2356) www.swigarteasterlingfuneralhome.com

I graduated with Marilyn at Millersburg High School.
She was a very good student and a lot of fun. She always kept in touch with her former classmates. My condolence to the Black family
