Roy and I were lifelong friends. I will always remember the high school and hunting adventures we had together. He was a super friend and I will miss him deeply. My most sincere condolences to his wife, daughter, and family.

Roy was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and always had the most beautiful yard around. He took care of me when I had the chicken pox in kindergarten and taught me to drive when I was 16. I remember sitting on his porch talking after my grandma, his wife, died unexpectedly and I was trying to figure out my faith. Who was God? Was he real? It mattered now that someone I loved was in heaven, and he bent his arm at his elbow back and forth and then twisted it from side to side and said look at how amazing our bodies are, the things they can do, the way they were created, that alone proves to me that there is a God. I'm so glad to know that he is in heaven now, though we will miss him terribly. He was so much more than these few lines. I feel lucky to have had him for a grandpa.
