I was heartbroken when I saw Al's obituary in the Oklahoman. Al and my parents, Jim and Pat Rives, were dear friends for many, many years. He was best man at their wedding in OKC in August 1948. No matter where we lived in the world, they stayed in touch. After my father died 24 years ago Al stayed in touch with my mom. She showed me the copy of "The Sustainable Downtown" he sent her a few years ago summarizing his idea for ARTSPARK. What a creative man! I hope he had a chance to see OKC's downtown revival. I'm glad he was "fit and active" until the end. What a blessing. Hearing the B.C. Clark jingle this season will be a little sad this year. My condolences to all his family and loved ones. The world has lost a creative genius.
