Sept 21, 1947 - Jan 9, 2014 NORMAN Arvie Wayne Bowerman, 66, passed away on Jan. 9, 2014. He was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Stuart, OK to Arvie and Olevia Bowerman. Wayne was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. He served 18 months in Vietnam with Co D, 58th Infantry. Wayne worked as a plumber, owning his own company. He was a cowboy all his life. He was living/working on a ranch at the time of an accident in 2004. Since that time, he has resided in the Norman Veterans Center, where he was known as "Cowboy." Survivors include son, Arlee Wayne Bowerman, Three Rivers, TX; daughter, Olevia Kelley, Joshua, TX; stepdaughter, Valerie Burroughs, Alvarado, TX; sisters: Dolores Holloway, Midwest City, OK; Pat Sutterfield and Gale McGlasson and husband Carl, of Moore, OK; seven grandchildren, Angelina, Aaron, Tanner, Lana, Jessa, Braedon, and Jayla; and several nieces and nephews. Wayne was a quiet, kind and gentle man and will be missed by all who knew him. The family gives special thanks to the VA Center in Norman for their loving care. Services to celebrate Wayne's life will be Jan. 13, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Advantage Funeral Home Chapel. Family will be receiving friends 6-8 p.m on Sunday. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Arpelar Cemetery.

Dad i miss you so much! I hate the way you were taken from me. A part pf me died with you. I know you are in heaven with grandma and grandpa but i really need you!
