September 16, 1926 - March 19, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Billy Earl Gist, 87, went to be with our Lord on March 19, 2014 in OKC. He was born September 16, 1926 in Ardmore, OK to Earl and Carrie (Carter) Gist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Lou Usher in 2005. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He managed lumber yards for 3 different companies and was owner of Bethany Building Supply. He retired as the Director of Purchasing for the State of OK Department of Corrections. He was a longtime member of Putnam City Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a devoted Christian, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his daughters, Paula Harth of OKC, and Cynthia Stacy and husband Larry of Edmond. He has 3 grandchildren, Lindsay Stacy, Jim Reynolds and wife Staci and John Harth and wife Kiesha. Great-grandchildren include Bailey, Berkley, Rune and Maxin. His loving, gentle spirit will be missed by all. Visitation will be Friday, 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 22, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment at 2:00pm in Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, OK.
