Charlene was my friend since 2005 when we met in acupuncture school in OKC. We struggled toghether in our classes and on many Friday nights during the year that I was travelling to OKC for weekend classes I would stay with her and we would stay up all night studying and practicing different points on each other to help us learn the anatomical locations, names, and effects. We talked on the phone almost weekly and I still reach for my phone on my afternoon commute to call and chat with her. I love and miss her so much. She was always present with me, nonwavering in h love, and genuinely authentic. I hope very much to meet again in our next lives.

You were always a unique and lovable friend. You trusted me with living with your mom and you two are the ones that truly gave me the only friendship I had in the whole 3 years I lived in Oklahoma. At times I feel so crushed that I wasn't there for you when mama passed, and then to lose you also just hurt so much. But I do believe God put me where I am at that time for a reason. I do wish we had more time together. Our time will be with God tho, and no more pain or sorrows will hit us then. You were and still are a true blessing to me Charlene. I still have the drawings mama did and even her pillow cases which I sleep with. I wish I had something of yours with me...but I do have the most awesome memories that I wouldn't trade for the world. The times we went and ate some awesome burgers, the ice cream we all went and got...and mama's birthday party...To see the look on your face and hers when I gave her that watch was amazing. She said it made her feel rich. haha. And the time we went to the park, and you started getting rained on. But it was hot, so you liked it anyways. ha ha. I love you. Thank you again for giving me a place or should I say home to live in. I hope that staying in your daughter's life that we can be close too. I will make sure to watch over her the best I can from here too. You did good babe. You really "ARE" an amazing Mom, Daughter, Friend and always a sister to me. Just like the box I gave you...Friends and sisters...Love you

My mama was a super mama!! Mistakes? Sure! Arguments? Oh yes! But my mother allowed me room to grow! She showed me her mistakes and told me to learn from them, and I did! She use to do everything for me, from phone calls to going places, all of it! But there came a time when I was about 23 that she said, "no more, I will show you how to do these things yourself"! I was mad as hell, but I learned from her teachings and now, I soar because of this! I love you mom, I will never be able to replace the unconditional friendship I had with you! I will continue to make you proud! I know that living is what you want us all to do! So I pick myself up once again and I will show you what your teachings have done for me! I love you, I love you, I love you! And I will see you again when the time comes! Watch over my babies, they are everything to me! Love, Amber Lea Posey

Charlene was a wonderful person to me and always accepted me with open arms, gave me respite from the craziness of my home life growing up and never judged me.. I have so many fond memories of this woman, the world is truly a sadder place without her..

My heart and thoughts go out to Charlene's family. I knew Charlene through Alex and we reunited as "Friends of Bill W.". I could always call her after not seeing her for a long time and it was like no time had passed, she was always there to help, offer a suggestion or just listen. I can't forget that she introduced me as "the other Charlene". She was a true friend and will be so badly missed.
