Sending love & prayers to all of you, especially sweet Lisa. Pokey was such a delightful part of our childhood. And Bill was such a dearly loved father.

Bill touched everyone he knew with his wit and warmth. I will always be grateful that he was my friend, and I will treasure forever the black and white memories of HoHo and Pokey. He was the funniest man in the history of OKC television, and anyone who worked with him will agree. Thanks, Bill, for sharing your giant talent with all of us who were a part of the HoHo and Pokey generation.

A television studio is small world, isolated from all but a small group of people and sometimes terrifying for on-air talent. It was always comforting to look beyond the lights and see Bill. A rock to rely upon professionally, a breath of fresh air personally. One of the good guys.

Blessings to him and his.

Of course I loved Pokey, like everyone else that grew up in Oklahoma during that time but today my thoughts go to his daughter Lisa that I knew from high school. What a sweet girl who must have had wonderful parents to raise her to be so compassionate. My thoughts and prayers are with you Lisa and with your family.

Bill Howard brings a smile to my face! The greatest reason for me is not what most of Oklahoma would share. He helped raise and influence his daughter to become a woman of great compassion and loyalty to her friends. That daughter was Lisa, who was my friend, my fellow ministry worker, and my administrative assistant for Children's Ministry. Lisa, I know that you will miss your dad in so many ways. Though that is hard, you will be able to also have times of wonderful memories and thoughts of him. I certainly remember him fondly. My girls and I send you and your family loving thoughts and prayers as you journey through this part of life. May God's loving care and faithfulness be present with you in many forms. Love to you my friend ! Vonna

My heart goes out to Bill's family. He was truly an Icon for OKC TV viewers. He had a rare talent for making all of us laugh. He will be sorely missed.

I had the unique pleasure of working with Bill "Pokey" Howard during his stint at OETA. In the years he served as "Stage Manager" for our weekly taping of "Outdoor Oklahoma" I don't think there was ever a week that went by where Bill didn't crack five or six new jokes. To this day, he is one of the funniest human beings I've ever encountered. Although he was a jokester, Bill was also the consummate professional, particularly when it involved proper lighting techniques. He had high standards, and he made our productions look as good as the technology would allow. He was simply a treasure.

My sympathies to Bill's family.

Dear Family of beloved Bill howard. May I express my deepest sympathy for your loss. May peace be with you at this difficult time. As you know most of us in oklahoma knew you father as a bright and brilliant performer that brought joy and laughter into our homes as we grew up. truley there is hardly anyone who grew up here that did not remember the clever puppet performer and the laughter and light that he brought into our homes. Truly no one matched him. May peace be with you. Love Rick and Laura Pauley
