I took Cooper by the cemetery this weekend. He asked about all the flags and then he went around reading all the headstones that had flags. He's such a smart boy! We love you and miss you and on this Memorial Day give thanks that you gave your life for our country.

The flag is flying in the sky
A daily reminder of who and why
We sit here remembering them today
These heroes that now lie in their grave.

While here on earth, the bravest ones
A soldier, a mother, a daughter, a son
The father's who went far off to war
To ensure our safety and so much more

To keep our children happy and free,
Someone must do this job, you see
So, today remember the soldiers who served,
Because this is one thing they truly deserve.

The loved one's that they have left behind,
The Gold Star mothers, like your and mine
We honor them proudly, every day
Our American Soldier...Proud and Brave
By Shannon Williams-Austill

I want to thank this soldier for their sacrifice.
And, I wish to extend my deepest regards to the loved ones they have left behind. Their service to our nation, has not gone unnoticed. They are our heroes, who paid the ultimate price for us, and that is something that every American needs to be reminded of and remember everyday.
The freedom we all have, we have because of brave young men and women who made a choice to defend and serve.
Today, let me remember your loved one with you.

Buddy,

I guess it has been a short three years, hasn't it? I barely remember the times that have passed, so much has happened. I just wanted you to know that I've not forgotten you, old friend. You were the older brother I never had, you were the person I wanted to grow up to be like. I miss you, brother, I truly do. I know you were doing what you believed was right and in the end gave your life for others. I would have never expected anything else from a man I love and respect as much as you. Thank you, Buddy. I wish I had had the nerve to tell you that I loved you like a brother, that I wished I had an older brother like you. I miss you, Buddy, and I always will.

November 14, 2008
Guess what Buddy? Cooper will be two on Sunday! He lights up a room with his smile, much like you. He is so silly and smart. He brings us so much joy. We all love you very much.
July 21, 2008
Well its been a while since the passing of Doc and feel i didnt know him as well as i would of liked. I served as the Admin NCO for his unit in Afghanistan and i feel i got to know him more after his death than i did in his life, and i can see clearly he touched all the soldier's who new him cause a year after his death you can still see the scars as visible in his unit as they were when they told us had happened. I find myself late at night thinking of the things we did as a unit and trying to remember everything only to find that some of the minor details have slipped away. But when i start thinking of Buddie and that day I cant forget a thing. When i am alone in the car or sitting by myself i find myself pondering on that day. I guess where i am going is that i cant imagine what his closest friends go through because i know what i go through and like i said before we werent close at all.
God Bless Buddie and all of his Friends and family.
June 20, 2008
You are remembered and respected. Thank you Sgt Hughie!
May 25, 2008
I'm from Texas and didn't know Sgt. Hughie but I hold all the respect and honor for him that he deserves.
March 10, 2008
Buddy was a great friend i wish i had got to see him more while we were in afghanistan but not everyone gets placed where they want.. but knowing Doc through Operation Southern Comfort during Katrina and just being around him in B. Co. during peacetime was still great times and nothing but good memories.. He was an outstanding soldier with the urge to save or help whoever he could and numerous people could give testiment to that.. We will miss you Doc.. and we'll see you soon enough!
February 19, 2008
I can't believe it's already been a year since Buddy willingly, bravely and galantly rushed to save another man's life. What is it in a man that drives him to aid those in need? How can one man heroically face such danger, while others run from it?

I can still see (in my mind's eye) me and Buddy standing in the back yard... talking. He has his head cocked to one side with that big white smile like he always had.

Although I can not believe this year has gone, it still seems like yesterday Buddy was here feeding infant Cooper and trying to figure out how to nestle him on his shoulder to burp him.

Sgt. Buddy James Hughie was a remarkable US Army medic but he was the World's Best Daddy for the two weeks he was able.

Carter (my other grandson...so young) sees Buddy ever so often. He just laughs and says " Hey Buddy, hey Buddy" Carter's mom says, "You see Uncle Budd?" "He right there" comes the reply as he points to where he sees his Uncle Buddy.

Our American Hero impacted many lives during his time on this earth. Would that we all have such a legacy.
February 19, 2008

On the eve of the one year anniversary of your passing, it is still hard to believe that you are gone. We miss you terribly and think about you every day. Cooper is such a wonderful little boy. He is always smiling! You would be proud of him just as he will be proud of you, his daddy.
We miss you.

I knew Buddy through passing once at the alamo. I got there shortly before he and his friends went down range. I remember when he died the saddness that was on everyone's face at the alamo and I wanted to go through legacy and say goodbye to all of my friends I lost on our deployment. I didn't know you well buddy but you are in my prayers. God be with all of you through this time.
December 31, 2007
A Mass has been scheduled for Sgt. Buddy Hughie for the Christmas Season at Saint Mary Magdalene's Catholic Church, a historic church in downtown Omaha. It was announced in yesterday's church bulletin that it will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 12:05 p.m. and will be said by a priest who has said Masses previously for Sgt. Hughie. He knows a little bit about Sgt. Hughie's life from reading the articles I gave to him from the website "Faces of the Fallen." At each Mass he has talked about Sgt. Hughie especially how he had given his life for others and he used Sgt. Hughie's life as an example on how we are supposed to be in our lives........what we may be asked or called upon to do in our lives in order to help others. During this Holy Season of Christmas may God continue to bless Sgt. Buddy Hughie and his family and all those who love and miss him so very much.
December 22, 2007
My brother was also killed in Afghanistan, the day before they took Sgt. Hughie. I'm so very sorry for the loss of such a fine American Citizen as your son. I have to tell you that I was reading entiries, crying because I feel so sad for your family and I know the pain you're all going through as myself and my family are going through it as well. May god be with you this Christmas.

A Mass will be said in honor of Sgt. Buddy Hughie at Saint Cecilia's Cathedral at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13 in Omaha, Nebraska for Veterans Day observances. A good friend of mine is the pastor of the church and I made copies of the article from the website Faces of the Fallen so that he would know who he was saying the Mass for. I also entered Sgt. Hughie's name with my family members and friends for the Honor Roll that will be shown on Nebraska Educational TV on Veterans Day. May God continue to bless all of you who miss and mourn their fiend, son, brother, husband and grandchild.

Today Buddy would have turned 26 years old. Little Cooper is now 11 months old and full of life. He has one tooth and is beginning to walk. Cooper is a jubilant little boy who has his daddy's radiant smile...and it's always on.
We miss our American Hero but we cherrish the memories and of course his legacy will be the fine young man Cooper grows to be.

Proud father-in-law, daddy & Popop.
October 20, 2007
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Let's see...how does the story go...While serving as a training advisor for the Afghan Army at Camp Alamo a new secfor platoon showed up at the gate. They looked a little rough. Are they any good? Do they know what they're doin'? Very soon those questions were answered and all doubt cast aside. We learned they were fellow Oklahomans and took them in becuase most of our own detatchment is from Oklahoma. I remember the days they left us in small groups to go "down range." I told them see ya later and that I would put my boot where the sun dosn't shine if they let anyone hurt them. They just luaghed as a Soldier should. To the men of Charlie Company my heart goes out to you for the loss of your commrade. My heart goes out to the family and most of all to his son.
Let it be known to all your father was a true warrior and a good man.
God speed.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. "Doc" was a good friend to my friend Tom Dodson. I was truly saddened to hear of his death. I felt like I knew him as often as Tom and I spoke of him. I had also seen a couple of pictures of him on Tom's website.
I have read many internet articles on what a hero he was and how unselfish and giving he was. Please know that his sacrifices do not go unappriciated and that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
May 13, 2007
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS. I HAVE JUST LEARNED OF YOUR GREAT LOSS AND WISH TO EXPRESS MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES. PLEASE KNOW THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT HERE WHO DO CARE AND YOUR HERO WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. HOLD TIGHT TO YOUR TREASURED MEMORIES THAT HIS SPECIAL SMILE MAY CONTINUE TO SHINE. I PRAY THAT PEACE WILL FIND YOU ALL SOMEDAY. GODSPEED AND SEMPER FI.

This loss of a life leaves me tearful. The courage young men show in battle and the overwhelming concern for others cannot be taught, cannot be instilled. Rather it is a gift of God. May God Bless you and yours.

It is with deep sadness that I am forced to honor the memory of another fallen Warrior. I ask the family and friends of Sgt. Buddy Hughie to accept the offer of my most sincere and heart felt condolences. I hope that you know that your loss is shared by a grateful America. Most of whom you have not met and in all probability will never meet. Our nation sincerely appreciates the sacrifices of your patriot.

Freedom is not free; it is paid for by our heroes!

I know the pain parents feel when they loose a child. I lost a son 19 years ago. It is a pain that defies description. It is a pain that never goes away. It is a pain that will never end. It is a pain that is all consuming. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

May God Bless and keep you today, tomorrow and forever!

Rest in Peace Brave Warrior; you did your duty with great honor, dedication and in the Highest Tradition of the United States of America.

On March 17th the"Wall of Heroes" will begin it's 2007 journey visiting Oklahoma cities from border to border honoring the Oklahoma Heroes who have given the prcious gift of life so that we can continue celebrating our state's Centennial, and many other days to come. It's the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It's the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It's the Soldier, not the politicians that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. It's the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag. Thank you. Rest in peace.
March 01, 2007
To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
Proud Parents of SFC Brent A. Adams, KIA, 12/1/05, Ramadi, Iraq

Alexis, and all of the family:
There are no words that anyone can say at this time, I know that the grief is so very great. The notice was hung in the office today of the company that we work for, and my heart sank. Many years ago, I also had to walk in these shoes. Please know that my heart is with you. I am broken. Buddy is at peace with our Lord now. Our God that we serve is ever so close to all of you at this time.
I am here if you ever need anything.

February 27, 2007
I hope as you read these messages written by strangers that you will feel comfort knowing it comes from our hearts. Thank you Buddy for all you did and had to go through to keep us safe.
February 27, 2007
To Alexis, Cooper, and Family, friends and Comrades of Sgt. Hughie,

Words do not express the heaviness in your heart and the grief you feel, nor can they convey my feelings on the loss of such an American Patriot as Sgt. Hughie.

Rest assured, he will not be forgotten. My son pulled a tour in Afganistan, and by the Grace of God, he came back home unscathed. I can't imagine what you are going through.

Sgt. Hughie served in the same unit I did, but I never met him due to time differentials. The Medic is like an angel to an Infantryman-you can always count on him. He's always there, inconspicuous, but when the need arises, he steps up and does what has to be done.

Sgt. Hughie did just that. He put the needs of others above his own, at terrible cost. He exemplified America and the Army by his actions.

Alexis, keep the patch I gave you at the airport last night, and everytime you feel alone, rub that patch and know you are connected with every Patriot, living or dead, in the memory of your Husband.

May God Bless, Keep, and Comfort you in this time of loss.

We will not forget.
RW

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:8

Would that the story of brave soldiers like Sgt. Buddy Hughie be the stuff of world news. A selfless soldier risking and then losing his life to help allies under fire. God bless him and his family. We should all remember for every misdeed we hear of in the news, there are thousands of men and women like Sgt. Hughie, fighting and, sometimes dying, with supreme honor for this great country.
February 26, 2007
I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy and appreciation for his service to this nation. I did not know him but after seeing the article, I wanted to let his loved ones know that I am deeply sorry that happened and it's obvious he loved his family. You all will be in my prayers..

I pray for all the men in the 180th and I wanted to thank your son for his bravery.
February 26, 2007

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

February 23, 2007
MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY AND BE WITH THEM DURING THIS TIME. I DIDNT KNOW HIM, BUT IM PROUD TO BE FROM THE SAME STATE. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ HE IS A REMARKABLE YOUNG MAN. THANK U BUDDY AND MAY UR SON ALWAYS KNOW THAT UR A TRUE AMERICAN HERO!
February 23, 2007
I was in Medic school with Buddy. We actually lived across the hall from each other and hung out some. I was very shocked to hear about his death. But knowing Buddy, he was doing what he had to do, not for himself, but for others. Please know that I mourn his passing with you and if I could be of any assistance please let me know. Buddy was a good man, a great soldier, and a hero. We'll all miss him.

It would seem that anything that I could write here would seem all too inadequate. However I find myself drawn to the words of one of our greatest leaders and identifying with his heart felt sympathy.

PRESIDENT LINCOLN, hearing that a mother had given five sons to the Union army, and that all of them had been killed on the battlefield, wrote her the following letter of sympathy:

"EXECUTIVE MANSION, WASHINGTON, Nov. 2I, 1864

To MRS. BIXBY, BOSTON, MASS.

Dear Madam—I have been shown, in the files of the War Department, a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which shall attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming.

But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours very sincerely and respectfully,

A. LINCOLN

Where could human heart seem more tender, or faith in the Divine Heart stronger, than in these lines of the martyred President.
February 23, 2007
God bless you and your family in this time of mourning. Thank you so much for the freedom that your son has allowed us as americans. I'm not sure how I feel about the war but am very much for american and the soldiers and the job they are doing and will continue to be until they all come home.
February 23, 2007
First I would like to let you know that I am sorry for your lose. Your son has never met me nor have I ever met him, yet he fought and gave his life so that my family and I may rest alittle easier at night. I find it hard to read some of the entries due to I could not imagine what it would be like to lose a family member like that. You and your family are now in my prayers and in my heart. I would also like to say that I'm very proud of him and you for the way you raised him. May God be with you in your time of sorrow, give you the strength to hold your heads up high, and remember that Buddy loved you all and is watching down on all of us with the armor of God on, fighting for us in His ARMY. I would like to say this to his child; As hard as it may be growing up without your father just know that he is watching down on you from heaven, he fought for many, and is loved and missed by many. Don't ever be anything but proud of him cause we all are.
February 23, 2007
My son is assigned to the same unit as your son. I tell you as I do my own son, they allow all of us to enjoy the freedom we have. He is a hero to this nation and and his service to this nation will not be forgotten, I promise.
My God bless you and keep his loving arms around you in this time of sorrow.
February 23, 2007
Im so sorry for your loss.. We are trying our best over here to help all of Buddy's friends get through it. We all will remember Buddy as a hero and a TRUE SOLDIER.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

February 22, 2007
I am so sorry for your loss. Even through your sadness I know that you must feel a fierce burst of pride and love for what sounds like a wonderful young man. The story and the words in this guest book tell a story of a a life to be proud of. A young man with ethics, caring, giving and all the wonderful qualities we all hope to achieve. His life ended much too soon but in that short span he had to have touched many, many lives. I am thankful and grateful to this young man and the many others who made the choice to defend freedom for our country and for other countries and in doing so made the ultimate sacrifice. Good bless you and keep you and hopefully ease your pain.

I didn't know Buddy Hughie, I do feel the loss for his family. His death really touched my heart. Thank you, Mr. Hughie for making the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom and my country.
February 21, 2007
To Buddy's family and young son:
Buddy was a hero before he ever left Oklahoma. He agreed to serve and he did so with honor. To have given his life to help another, especially in a war and in a country that is not OUR country, is the most courageous act I can think of. I hope your memories of his smile, his laughter, his hugs and his love will remain and sustain your hearts as you grieve. Our Son, Sgt. Stewart M. Jones, is serving as a medic with the 180th in Afghanistan too. We grieve with you and for you and if God was seeking a warrior to work for him in heaven, he certainly chose the best. God bless you all and God Bless Buddy. We will always remember his (and your) sacrifice and I hope you tell his son as he grows up how much his daddy was respected and appreciated for Freedom's sake. We are grateful that our son has served with Buddy and proud to know our country still turns out men willing to give their lives for the sake of their country.

OUR THOUGHTS & PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU-THANK YOU FOR GIVING THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR KEEPING OUR COUNTRY SAFE.
February 21, 2007
Thank you, Buddy for what you did and why you went. I'm sorry that you didn't get to come home from the war and finish out your life with your family. Life can be so unfair and if it wasn't for bright lights of good like yourself, it would be totally unfair. I thank God for you and your life and I know that you are probably reaping your rewards now. I hope to see you someday in Heaven and thank you in person.

February 21, 2007
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
February 21, 2007
Buddy, I have no doubts that God has already blessed you in paradise for your life and sacrifice. I served for 21 years and my son is currently on his second tour of duty in Iraq. I am proud to be a brother-in-arms with my son and with heroes such as you. Your actions under fire attest to your great sense of duty and patriotism. Your passing is a great loss for your family, the military and the United States. Though sad, I am also very very proud of you and your actions under fire. You are the ultimate example of why our military is the greatest in the world. To your family, I can't begin to understand your feelings of loss. But my prayers are with you and you have my great respect and appreciation for your son's contributions to his country. You raised a wonderful son, and you should be justly proud. God bless you.
February 21, 2007
I did not know Buddy, but my little brother is also deployed to Afghanistan with the 180th.
I am terribly sorry for your loss. Please, take great pride in knowing that Buddy was a DEFENDER of FREEDOM, of my freedom and for that I thank each of you for your sacrifices. One day I pray that Buddy's child will know what a true AMERICAN HERO his daddy was and always will be.

God Bless.
February 21, 2007
My wife and I lost our son in Iraq on 3 May 2004. He was married and had a 9 year old son. Our family truly understands the emotions of both pride and pain your are feeling. I wish I had some magic words that will make the pain easier, but there are no words. You will think of Buddy daily, you will feel pride daily, and you will feel pain daily. As time passes you will find it easier to cope with the lose of Buddy, but the pride and pain will always be present. You are not alone in your grief. There are more than 30 Oklahoma families grieving with you. I am also a member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, and I can assure you that all of our members have you in their prayers.
February 21, 2007
Although I didn't know Buddy, please accept my condolences. He was obviously a true hero. I am greatful for his service to our country. May God bless his friends and family and may He bring them peace during this sorrowful time.

God Blessed you with a brave son, who sacrified to protect those who cannot protect their selves. Be strong in knowing that and that God has blessed you with your grandson.
February 21, 2007
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Buddy exhibited what a true American patriot is, someone who is willing to lay down his life so that others may enjoy freedom and liberty that is a God-given right to mankind. Scriptures teach that there is no greater love than for one to lay down his life for another. As long as we have citizens and soldiers like Buddy, our freedom will never be taken away. God bless and comfort you in your hour of grief.
February 21, 2007
My heart and prayers go out to all of you and especially his baby, may you all find comfort, peace and hope in your hearts for the valued time you were able to share...
