I have such warm memories of Uncle Ralph. He was a kind and intelligent man, with a quick wit and gentle nature. Not only did he make sure we all took good care of our teeth, he took some of the best photos I have of my family during our growing up years. He was a wonderful man.
I knew and admired the Venk family during my youth in Oklahoma City and have thought fondly of you all over the years. I pray for peace during your family's time of mourning.
After reading about him in his obit, I do wish I'd known him personally. Instead, I send warm wishes of condolences to his family. I know it is a terrible loss. My good fortune was to know his son, Randall Venk, who was my dentist when I was a college student when he cured me of my TMJ headaches! It's obvious Ralph Venk gave the world many things. His legacy of photography must be immense. I never knew. The Sam Noble Museum, weren't they lucky to have him! It makes me happy to know of his gifts to our part of the world. Cheers & a toast to a life well lived!
Sending warm wishes to the Venk family. Dr. and Mrs. Venk lived on the corner in Northwest OKC when I was growing up. I remember that they always gave out toothbrushes on Halloween! As kids, we grumbled about it, but I respected him very much for it when I was older (and especially now that I'm a parent). I've never had a cavity! Thank you, Dr. Venk.
