Allow me to add to my thought below: I'll always remember Sue Ellen, young, vibrant, laughing at us as she taught us how to speak correctly, always dressed so crisply in a blue oxford button up shirt, scarf around her neck, khaki pants and penny loafers....always laughing us into trying one more time....Rev. Nancy Adler

Sue Ellen was my Speech & Drama Coach in 1970 at Classen High School. She had no idea she was training a young student to grow up and be a preacher, using all the things she taught me. She and Dale were so important to me throughout my life.

Oh, we lost a good one! I was in Ms. Read's drama class at US Grant in 1966. She cared deeply about everyone in her classes, and inspired me to graduate that last sememster wih a 4.0. Our team of actors won numerous awards that year and I was elected to All State Cast. Although my journey artistically did not take the course she had hoped for me, her inspiration helped me acheive the place I hoped it would and the journey has been never dull. Because of her, Mr. OJ Collins, Ms. Sparks and others there I appreciate the arts, writing, film, and have never lost my sense of humor which blossomed at USGHS. She will always be in my heart and the hearts of the rest of us who loved her and enjoyed her classes there. Peace and Blessings,
Catherine Katey Johnson, Author, Screenwriter, AKA KariGrant, artist, Comedienne but Sue Ellen knew me as "Kitty Hayden."
