Tommy
On this third anniversary we have reached our goal at your school to name the new gymnasium the "Tommy Wolf Activity Center". I know rhat you would think this was really cool. All of your aunts and uncles and cousins were there to dedicate this legacy.

Your Austin cousins think of you often and remember all of the Star Wars and Sponge Bob games, your many games of Webkinz with Kalie and your zest for the NFL and ND football. Godspeed

I am proud to inform you of a project that I have been working on. I have always wondered how I could use my skills in music to honor Tommy's memory. Last July at the Zeltsman Marimba Festival I met a composer who is willing to write a piece in honor of Tommy. Once the piece is written, I will perform it on marimba at a memorial ceremony held in Oklahoma City. Because the completion of the memorial Activity Center to be dedicated to Tommy is approaching, the memorial ceremony may coincide with the opening to celebrate the establishment of a monument to the legacy that Tommy left behind.

My project is to have this piece commissioned. I feel that the performance of Tommy's piece will be an opportunity for loved ones to constructively reflect upon the large impact Tommy left during his time with us. After the performance the piece will remain in print and for sale. This is another way that Tommy's memory will be archived- when other percussionists perform this piece they will know that it was written in memory of a very special boy who was admired by many. The person who is writing the piece (Casey Cangelosi) is a popular and well respected composer, performer and instructor. Because of this the piece will not only be very special to us, it will also serve as a relevant contribution to the world of percussion literature.

Here is the link to my project. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/235828152/remembering-tommy-wolf-through-music

The most important thing that I can ask of anyone interested is to follow the progress of this endeavor and to share it with anyone else who may be interested. I feel that the performance will have the most meaning and significance if the experience is shared by loved ones of Tommy. While I understand that many receiving this message live far from Oklahoma City and may not be able to make the performance, I would love to share footage of it with anyone who is interested. I am excited to do what I can to remember a special boy who touched my heart, especially because I know that Tommy's loss was felt by many. I hope that this experience will unite all who knew Tommy as we celebrate his life as well as his mother Mary's enduring strength during times more trying than many of us will ever face.

Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 is this year's National Children's Memorial Day, a day set aside to remember all children who have died -- and to reach out in support to their bereaved families during a difficult season.

There is a worldwide candle lighting ceremony on Sunday Dec 11 at 7 pm to remember all children who have died from any cause. The group compassionate friends serves to help families heal after such a loss.

All of your Virgina, New Jersey, Ohio, Massachusetts and Maryland cousins will light a candle again for Tommy this year at 7 pm EST on December 11, 2011.

Tommy:
As we approach the two year anniversary of when you were united with God, we think of you often. We know that you will help guide your Mother as you watch upon her from Heaven.
