Sorry for your loss Marcus Sanders & family
November 25, 2008
I just heard about the passing of Jim. I was a fire inspector and oil and gas inspector in OKC for years. I worked with Jim both in the oil field (plugging wells) and during the development of Bricktown. He was always a joy to work with and even though he didn't always agree on the "cost" of all the fire protection required (at the Haunted House especially) he always complied when he realized it was in the best interest of the customers to provide health and safety. I will miss him. He was the last of a dying breed of entrepreneurs. OKC is a better place thanks to Jim.

Brewer Family, Jim was a big hearted man with a goal in life to accomplish his many task for his family. This he has done. He was a giver by heart. He has no idea the impressions he left on the many people who's life he touched. God bless you all. He will be missed, but never forgotten. My favorite, " Don't ever assume anything." Yep, he was tough, but we all learned alot!

Dear Patsy, Scott, Brett and Brent,
I was so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I worked for him for several years at the Super Rig Club(s) as guitar player/singer with The Claudia Corley Band, Magic and Moonlite and Majic. I remember Jim as a deal maker who never took no for an answer! He taught us talented but green musicians, the importance of being well rounded businessmen as well as entertainers. From Jim, we learned we could become successful if we could keep our egos in check and not take ourselves too seriously. He was a very generous man, but at the same time, expected the most out of those he cared about. I am fortunate to have known Jim and been one of those he helped out in so many ways. Influenced greatly by those years of experience working with Jim, I have made a 30 year career in the entertainment business, and I still draw upon the business examples he set. You can be proud knowing that not just those of us who knew Jim well, but the entire city of Oklahoma City is a better place now, for the undying efforts Jim made, that initiated so much progress in the city he loved. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

Patsy and Family, As members of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, you know how Jim supported us when the parade moved to Bricktown. You folks donated the upper room at O'Brian's knowing our bunch would patronize the bar later as good Irish do. Although we disagreed on the day of the parade, Jim always supported us and we have wonderful memories of his generosity and kindness. May God give you peace through this sad time. Our prayers shall be with you. Dr. Jim and Nan Flynn

Patsy, Brent, Brett, and Scott - Jim was someone I always looked up to. In our meetings, conversations and business dealings he was always enthusiastic, straight forward, and encouraging. I sought advise from him on several occasions and called him dad whenever we would meet. There's nothing any of us can't do if we will have the bold determination of Jim. He was a great man in my book and will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To the Brewer family, I was sadddened by the passing of Jim. I knew him and all of you from Southern Hills Baptist Church, and during the time that Brent was playing football at Moore. He was most proud of his family. All of you have left great memories during the time we lived in OKC. You guys are in our prayers.

Patsy, Brent & Bret, I am so sorry for you're loss! My heart is breaking for all of you, I know what you're going through. Jim was such a special person in my life, he was like a second father to me. No matter how long it had been since we had seen each other, he had a big hug for me! I loved him so much! Our last conversation he told me to start working on children, it will be the happiest time in you're life. He would be so proud of me to know i gave birth to a 3lb 6oz baby boy on November 7th. Johnathon Reid Vance is in the nicu at baptist doing very well. We are truly blessed! We are hoping to take him home in about 3 weeks. I apologize to all of you for missing the funeral, it broke my heart. My heart is full of joy, but broken at the same time. You're father loved all of you so much, & adored his grandchildren. All of you were so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, father, & grandfather. He will truly be missed! All of you will be in our thoughts & prayers during this difficult time. We love you, Ronny & Johnna Brooke Vance
